The beauty of the bottle

Alcohol is so therapeautic sometimes. I stayed late at my office last night, and then went to a local bar/cafe here in Uni City to get something to eat. And something to drink - which I'd been, frankly, craving for days. I had soup and salad and some pear ciders, and read some articles. And it was divine. It's not the beginning of any sort of downward spiral (with an alcoholic mother, I'm too careful to ever go there), but it renewed my appreciation of drink in times of crisis. Sometimes, it is just the right thing.

I know exactly what you mean. I was in a car accident last week. When I got home at the end of a long day of teaching and office hours and car rental, I poured myself a small, stiff drink. Worked better than Rescue Remedy to calm me down.

Hang in there. Change is never fun, but gets better with time.

I'm sorry you had a car accident! I hope things are okay. In those cases, I think alcohol is positively medicinal.

MMMmmmmm, LIQUOR! As one Al-Anon girl to another, I know the rigours of carefulness. But sometimes, you just gotta get your lush on! And then you remember how good it feels!
