Hurrah!

Just got acceptance for journal article about teaching in the area of my research, which I submitted back in the spring - yay! And the readers' reports are thorough and good. One seems to be smitten with the article, is very effusive, and doesn't suggest much in the way of revisions. The other is more moderated, but also positive. And very smart. Best of all, the revisions aren't that extensive. Worst of all, I have about 2 1/2 weeks to do them - ha ha - along with all the other work I'm doing right now. But still!! Hurrah!!

Congratulations!!! That's great news!

And I'm sure if you need more than 2.5 weeks for those minor revisions, you can take the time, guilt-free. I've learned that deadlines set by journal and volume editors mean absolutely nothing. At least one person in the journal or volume is always late or something else tends to hold up the process. So if you are overwhelmed by everything else, I'm sure you can stretch that 2.5 week deadline a bit so you don't have to kill yourself getting the revisions done or don't feel you have the time to do them as well as you'd like to.

Congratulations!!!

I feel compelled to add the following, however, regarding journal deadlines: For two years I worked as an editorial assistant for a journal, managing reviews and manuscript submissions, and there was ALWAYS one person who seemed to find the deadlines meaningless and caused me no end of headaches. I have therefore taken a personal vow to do everything in my power not to be that person, and am spreading the gospel far and wide.

But the important thing is: Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, all.

On the subject of doing the revisions in 2 1/2 weeks: my personality won't let me be late with them, for better or for worse. I dread being the late person jb refers to! It's doable - doesn't require any new reading or research or anything. I can probably do it in a day or two, actually. So I'll manage!

What wonderful news -- congratulations! And what a fabulous way to start a new job, with news that you've got a journal article now forthcoming. Very well done.
