3 possibilities

Since you are all so sweet and concerned about Mr. K, I shall keep you posted. The three possibilities are: Diabetes Insipidus, lymphoma, and kidney tumours. Next step, ultrasound with specialist to determine whether it's one of the latter two rather disastrous possibilities, with biopsy being done on the spot if there are tumours found.

Oh, damn. Damn, damn, damn.

Well, we shall see. More to be found out, still.

Those all sound like horrible options, but at least there are possibilities now. Gosh, that sounds so lame, I'm clutching at straws for an upside!

Yes, at least we are getting somewhere.

Sometimes there's not an upside, and that's just the way it is, right?

Sending loads of good wishes to you and R. and Mr. K - it's so so miserable when a pet is ill!

Oh God Hilaire, I'm sorry I'm just chiming in on this! I'm so sorry about Mr. K - poor little pooch and you and also R. I'm sending you all my prayers and good vibes - I hope that whatever it is it isn't as bad as it could have been. I'm REALLY thinking about you guys.

And I definitely think you should head home for the weekend - just go. It'll make you feel better to see him and R.

((hugs))

Yes, I've booked my ticket. Leaving after my clsss on Thursday, having my last-term TA cover my class Monday morning, and returning 2 hours before an MA thesis defense at which I am a university examiner, on Monday afternoon.

Well, at least they are getting somewhere with a diagnosis. If you know what's making him sick then you can start healing him sooner. I really feel for you and this whole situation. I am glad though, that you are able to go home and spend time with him. Just seeing you will make his spirits soar!

(BTW this is anon here again with an actual nickname ha!)

p.s: I was going to nickname myself "The President of Mr.K's fan club" but thought it seemed rather creepy from a lurker! So "Sending Positive Vibes for Mr.K" it will be ;)
